Strikethrough
Another simple yet useful tool can also be found under the home menu tab and it is the Strikethrough button. This feature will add a horizontal line through the middle of a words or passages. This feature while similar to the highlight tool is useful because you can strikethrough text you feel you no longer require without deleting it completely. This will allow you to reference your previous thoughts or if you decide the text becomes useful later you can just remove the strikethrough and reinstate the text.
To use this tool correctly you must select a certain word or passage and click the strikethrough button revealing a line through the text. Also, by clicking the little drop arrow at the bottom right of the font box you can gain access to the font dialog box. This box allows you to change the strikethrough from one line to two lines, which will allow you give a meaning for each. For example one line can represent spelling mistakes and two lines can be for grammar. The picture below shows how to select the strikethrough options.
